About Business Finance Hub

Who runs this

Business Finance Hub is a Bedrocka Tools property, operated by Bedrocka Ventures LLC — an AI-native holding company based in Chicago. Bedrocka Tools is starting with Business Finance Hub at bizmathpro.com — the calculator that shows its work. Additional sites covering insurance coverage, real estate, freelancer operations, and legal services are in active development. Each site is source-cited, reviewed quarterly, and corrected immediately when the underlying regulation or market changes.

The human behind it

Byron Malone is the founder and editor. He's spent fifteen years working alongside companies, operators, founders, and consulting partners — helping them translate business priorities into operational reality through technology adoption, AI automation, and the practical operating practices that actually hold up at scale. The work has spanned everything from technology selection and integration sequencing for growth-stage operations, to designing AI-augmented workflows that turned manual operations into compounding leverage, to sitting in the rooms where business leaders and technical teams figured out what to build, what to buy, and what to leave alone.

The calculators on this site come directly from that work. Cash runway math for a founder deciding whether to raise. Business valuation scenarios for an owner planning an exit. SBA loan structuring for a company evaluating expansion financing. Byron kept rebuilding the same spreadsheets across different deals and different companies, and finally decided the public internet's version of those tools — thin lead-capture funnels or actively misleading marketing assets — wasn't good enough for the operators he'd spent fifteen years working alongside.

The framing for the operator-finance calculators draws on two bodies of published work. Paul Graham's 2015 essay “Default Alive or Default Dead?” established the canonical question every early-stage operator needs to answer: per Graham, “Assuming their expenses remain constant and their revenue growth is what it has been over the last several months, do they make it to profitability on the money they have left?” The cash-runway and burn-multiple calculators on this site are a direct operationalization of that question. The SaaS unit-economics work draws on David Skok's “SaaS Metrics 2.0” (forentrepreneurs.com, 2012), which defined the LTV:CAC framework that became standard across the industry. Per Skok: “The best SaaS businesses have a LTV to CAC ratio that is higher than 3, sometimes as high as 7 or 8.” The customer-economics calculator's threshold tier system is anchored on those benchmarks.

Bedrocka Tools is built natively on AI automation with documented human review at every step. Byron leads editorial direction on operator-finance content. For regulated YMYL content (tax, legal, regulated investment advice), Bedrocka Tools commits to review by qualified subject-matter experts before publication.

How we make money (and how we don't)

We make money two ways. Display ads, labeled “Advertisement” on every page, served through programmatic ad networks. Editorial affiliate partnerships, labeled “Editorial pick · Affiliate partner”, where we may earn a commission if you sign up with a partner we recommend — at no cost to you.

We never let revenue influence calculator logic or recommendations. The math is the math regardless of whether a sponsor wants it to look different. If a partner ever asks us to tune a calculator's output to favor their product, we end the partnership. See our affiliate disclosure for the full list of partners and FTC-compliant terms.

Why open source

Every calculator on this site is published as TypeScript on GitHub under MIT license. Every formula traces to a primary source — federal regulation, IRS publication, peer-reviewed research, or industry-standard reference. Every page has a real human reviewer with public accountability. We believe finance media's next decade will be defined by verifiable trust, not brand authority alone, and we built Bedrocka Tools to deliver it. Read our editorial standards for the full process.
