Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

Automatic: when you visit the site, our servers and third-party analytics partners receive standard web-log information: IP address, user-agent, referring URL, pages viewed, timestamps, approximate geolocation (city-level). We use this for security, fraud prevention, and product analytics.

Calculator inputs: the numbers you enter into our calculators are processed in your browser. We do not transmit them to our servers unless you explicitly choose to email yourself the result or download a PDF, in which case the inputs become part of the document we send.

Email address:if you use the “email me” feature on a calculator or submit the contact form, we collect the email address you provide plus the content of your message.

2. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and equivalent local-storage mechanisms for the following purposes:

• Essential:to keep form state and preferences (e.g. the “show all rows” toggle on amortization tables).
• Analytics:Google Analytics 4 and Plausible track anonymized usage to help us improve the product. You can opt out via your browser or a “Do Not Track” signal; we honor it where technically feasible.
• Advertising:third-party ad networks (Google AdSense, and in some cases Mediavine) may use cookies to serve ads relevant to your interests. Google's use of advertising cookies is governed at adssettings.google.com and aboutads.info/choices.
• Affiliate tracking: when you click an affiliate link, the partner may set a cookie to attribute a subsequent signup to this site. This lets us earn a commission that keeps the calculators free; it never changes our recommendations or what the calculator outputs.

3. Third-party services we use

• Google Analytics 4 — product analytics
• Plausible Analytics — privacy-first site analytics
• Google AdSense (and/or Mediavine) — display advertising
• Resend — transactional email (email-me-my-result feature, contact form)
• Loops — marketing email (only if you opt in)
• Supabase — our database for minimal log data and email subscriptions
• Vercel — site hosting and edge network

Each third party has its own privacy policy governing how it handles any data it receives. We recommend reviewing them directly.

4. How we use your information

• To provide the calculators and features you request
• To respond to your questions or corrections
• To send you the calculation result you asked to receive
• To send product updates if you explicitly opt in
• To measure aggregate usage and improve the product
• To serve relevant advertising where applicable
• To prevent abuse, fraud, and spam

5. Who we share with

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers listed above, and only as necessary for them to provide the service. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights, or to investigate abuse of the service.

6. Your rights

CCPA (California residents):You have the right to know what personal information we have collected, to request its deletion, to correct inaccuracies, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information in the traditional sense; limited sharing with advertising networks may constitute “sharing” under CCPA, and you can opt out via the advertising controls above and/or by emailing us.

GDPR (EEA and UK residents): You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, and objection. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Our lawful bases for processing are: consent (for marketing email), legitimate interest (for analytics and security), and contract performance (for features you explicitly use).

7. Data retention

Email subscriber records: retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion. Contact-form submissions: retained for up to 24 months for quality and support. Analytics logs: retained per Google Analytics / Plausible default retention (14 months for GA4 event-level data by default). Server logs: 90 days.

8. Children

This site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced via a notice at the top of this page for at least 30 days and an update to the effective date.
